I completed a 12,000 word dissertation entitled, "Mouths stuffed with gold: Aneurin Bevan and the establishment of the National Health Service."

Areas of study included the fall of the Roman Empire, the Justinian reconquests, early Islamic history, late 19th century European history, the interregnum and Cromwellian protectorate, and 20th century British history.

College tutors nominated me as the junior and then senior college representative on the Faculty of Modern History's Undergraduate Joint Consultative Committee (UJCC).
